Robin Darling, Executive Director, has been involved in sexuality education for over 25 years, beginning as a peer health educator for Planned Parenthood during high school. They hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego (2004). Robin worked as safer sex and HIV prevention educator for 5 years before returning to school to complete their Master’s in Sexuality Studies (2011). During their graduate work they received SFSU’s 2010 Jim Brogan Teaching Scholarship. Robin held various roles for San Francisco’s Center for Research and Education on Gender and Sexuality, including the program coordinator for their annual Summer Institute on Sexuality. Additionally, they have developed curriculum and trained health educators internationally as an independent contractor for various organizations. Pronouns: they/them/she/her
Emmalinda MacLean, Director of Curriculum & Instruction, and Co-Founder, was a participant in the Our Whole Lives sexuality education program as a middle schooler at her childhood church, and as a teen she became a resource for friends’ questions about sex, bodies, and relationships. As an adult, she is a highly respected sexual health educator and has facilitated thousands of hours worth of conversations with youth covering every topic surrounding human sexuality that you can imagine. She leads Our Whole Lives trainings around the country, coaching new sex educators on our inclusive, values-centered approach. Her prior work with children, youth, and families has included religious education, theater, clowning, and summer camps—joy, play, community, and justice are some of her core values. She is especially proud of her work on consent education, from the creation of the bubble-wrap game to the publication of her children’s book, Everybody, Every Body! Beth Rendeiro, Director of Outreach & Engagement, and Co-Founder, has been teaching comprehensive, developmentally-attuned sexuality education for over thirty years. She has experience constructing curriculums and teaching courses for children, youth, teens and adults, and has implemented teaching programs in schools, agencies, churches and private settings. The objectives of her work are to improve communication, enhance self-worth, provide information and increase responsibility with the ultimate goal of personal health and well-being. She is certified as a sexuality educator by AASECT and has a Master’s Degree in Education from Harvard and a Master’s in Special Education from the University of Massachusetts-Boston. Feliks Eskilson, Client Program Coordinator and Facilitator, is dedicated to making the world not only a safer, but a more affirming and empowering place for all youth to be themselves. They hold a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles, where they specialized in LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Psychology and Applied Community Psychology. Feliks has been working with young people of all ages for over 10 years, and is particularly passionate about delivering a LGBTQIA+ inclusive sex and relationship education to today's generation. Dr. Alexandra ”Allie” Melendez, Adult Education Program Coordinator and Sr. Facilitator, is a firm believer that happy and healthy adults start as well-informed children. She is a west Los Angeles native who went to summer camp, studied journalism in the mid-west, and traveled around the world before discovering a passion for education. When asked to create a human development curriculum for a fifth-grade classroom, Allie read and conducted enough research to create her own robust human sexuality curriculum for K-12 students. Allie has a collection of expensive pieces of paper, the latest of which reads that she is a doctor of human sexuality. her doctoral dissertation is titled, “from abc to std: what you didn’t learn in school,” which provides an adult audience with the comprehensive sex education they didn’t receive as children. Facilitation Team
Greg Machlin, Facilitator, received his Our Whole Lives Curriculum training in 2011 and has been teaching sex-ed since 2012. He has taught and individually tutored all ages of students, from elementary school to college, and specialized in learning-disabled students for Franklin Educational Systems. He taught Parker-Anderson Enrichment students how to play chess, make Lego robotics, and create video animation. Pronouns: he/him
Hann McEwen, Facilitator, has worked as a Sex and Consent Facilitator since 2017. They’ve worked as a Facilitator in Philadelphia and Chicago before joining More Than Sex Ed here in Los Angeles. They’ve taught and created curriculum focused on implementing a consent culture. They’ve had students go on to create their own curriculums, advocate for more consent laws at Philadelphia city hall, and create social media campaigns advocating for consent education. After moving to Los Angeles in 2021, they’ve worked in the film industry. Combining their passion for film and consent education, they became an Intimacy Coordinator. Now, as a Facilitator with MTSE, they’re excited to continue their previous work as a Facilitator with the additional knowledge they have obtained over time. Pronouns They/She
Tiana Randall-Quant, Facilitator, is a Los Angeles born-and-based actor, educator, and arts advocate. A graduate from UC Berkeley (2016), her work in theatre revolves around celebrating Black and Queer creativity and dismantling the barriers that keep Global Majority and marginalized peoples underserved in the Los Angeles Theatre community. She is also a teaching artist and works with organizations such as Center Theatre Group and Boston Court Pasadena to bring theatre education and creative support to schools around Southern California. Tiana is passionate about destigmatizing and demystifying sexual education and is thrilled to be joining the More Than Sex Ed teacher team this school year. Pronouns: she/her
Alice Rona, Facilitator, is big believer in being a forever student and is a graduate of Western Washington University, where she has a B.A in sociology. She has been working in the sexual health education world since 2018 when she began teaching for Planned Parenthood Los Angeles. She intimately understands the lifesaving impact of comprehensive sex education and is dedicating to creating a kinder and safer world for youth and adults alike. Pronouns: she/her
Jonathan Quant, Sr. Facilitator, has been involved in the work of human sexuality training and education since his early teens as a participant in the Our Whole Lives program as a youth. In addition to early education as a youth, serving as an outreach speaker for Teenline. Most recently, Jonathan has served as a trainer and facilitator for numerous non-profit organizations, including in the work of suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ+ people. He looks forward to working with schools, parents, staff, and anyone who will listen to him about the life saving work of comprehensive sexuality education and supporting healthy caregiving. Dr. Justin Siu, Facilitator, is a family doctor passionate about helping families build healthy lives. As a gay male raised in a conservative background without LGBTQ mentors, he was initially inspired to pursue medicine with a desire to bridge the gap in LGBTQ healthcare and visibility. Broad sex education in K-12 is particularly important to him because he believes this is the foundation to building healthy relationships and confident individuals. Michelle Nunez, Translator, holds a BS in Public Health from California State University Northridge where she found a passion in health education. She held an internship with a non-profit called Peer Health Exchange in mental health, sexual health and substance abuse. She provided skills-based workshops for youth throughout LA County, helped pilot and implement nationwide program changes, trained cohorts, and supervised HE teams for one school. Michelle became an intern group leader for MTSE and assisted with student centered E-learning activities. Crossing paths with MTSE opened an exciting opportunity to advocate for sexual health and empowerment for a wider range of youth. She has just started as a suicide prevention crisis counselor and is finishing a Drug and Alcohol Counselor certification to expand support within more diverse communities in need. Pronouns: she/her

Alix Kelsey, Advisory Board Chair, is an involved community member in Los Angeles, CA and native Californian. She enthusiastically signed on to More Than Sex Ed because she believes everyone should be equipped with correct information about their own body and sexuality to live their happiest healthiest life possible. After an enlightening experience in her college Women’s Health class, she realized how much she didn’t know and how powerful fact-based & affirming sexual education can be - it’s truly life changing! Before finding More Than Sex Ed, Alix spent her time volunteering with various organizations focused on fostering social & emotional skills for children and voter registration. Alix graduated from California State University, Chico with a B.S. in Business Administration & Marketing and spent the last 8+ years working in sales and marketing at for-profit companies. In her free time she enjoys yoga, reading, soaking up the sunshine, thrifting, and filling up on delicious food. Pronouns: she/her
Justin H. Dove, Advisory Board, is the proud product of public schools in Cleveland Heights and Twinsburg, Ohio. He earned his BS, MA, and EdS degrees from The Ohio State University. Justin is a nationally certified school psychologist (NCSP) and licensed educational psychologist (LEP #4333). His professional journey has spanned several Ohio, Georgia, and California school districts over thirteen years. The 2023/24 school year will be Justin's third year as a school psychologist and senior administrator at Mirman School, an independent K-8 school for intellectually gifted children in Los Angeles. His professional passions include mental health, social justice, neurodiversity-affirming practices, special education advocacy, and gifted education. In Justin's free time, you can find him spending quality time with family, volunteering, traveling, cheering on his Buckeyes or Browns, and appreciating culture in all its forms (especially music & food). Suzanne McClure, Advisory Board, MUSE Global School’s Head of School, has developed an extensive love of education at a very young age. She followed her first passion of dance and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. After graduation, Suzanne worked as a Broadway performer for ten years while working with students of all ages in performing arts, wellness and nutrition. She has experience in the field of education as a teacher since 1989 and as an administrator since 2003. Suzanne has been a part of the MUSE community since 2012 - beginning her career as the Movement Art Specialist. She has worked her way up through the years in various leadership positions including Director of MUSE Middle and High School and most recently, became Head of School in 2021. Her lifelong goal is to support the students of every age to bring their passions into the academic classroom, inspiring and preparing young people to live consciously with themselves, one another and the planet! Kevin Pakdivichit, Advisory Board, has worked for sex-related organizations since 1999, including the Long Beach Gay & Lesbian Center, MPOWER, GenQ, Rainbow Alliance, Young Democrats, AIDS Camp, Impulse, FLUX, and, currently, AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), where he’s been since 2009. As Director of Marketing for AHF, Kevin Pakdivichit oversees Domestic marketing activities for AHF. Passionate about his work with AHF, Kevin focuses on community collaboration, employee engagement, and client experience & retention. Kevin has spearheaded campaigns and programs such as the employee programs, International Condom Day, AIDS Walks, We the People, Stand Against Hate, Inside Scoop, and founded Impulse. He also let the opening of the Connie Norman Transgender Empowerment Center, the first of its kind, a community center, safe zone, event space, and we work for trans and nonbinary people. Dr. Cara Quant, Advisory Board, is an Internal Medicine doctor and sexpert who is passionate about female sexual health. Her passion came about after she realized it was not thoroughly taught in medical training but believe women need providers who are comfortable in discussing and knowledgeable with treating female sexual dysfunction (lack of desire, lack of arousal, pain with intercourse, and problems with orgasm). She is the founder of Viva La Vulva movement and art exhibition and is bringing together like-minded people from different backgrounds who have a passion for driving change in the way female sexual health is perceived in our society and to help promote more awareness about the topic. Cara Quant was born in Inglewood, CA. It was during her anatomy class in high school that she discovered her calling to become a doctor. From there, she attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where she received her bachelor’s degree, and with dedication and determination, got into UCLA/Charles Drew Medical School. She later completed Internal Medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and practices in LA. Pronouns: she/her
Kate Rosloff, Advisory Board, has decades of fundraising experience with nonprofit organizations having worked with such diverse issues as the arts, health, homelessness, social services, scientific research and education. As a consultant and development executive, she assisted charitable organizations develop their capacity and expand their reach through targeted and strategic support. She has a BA in Dance from UCLA and performed with an Iranian Folk Dance troupe throughout the USA and Europe. Now retired, her hobbies include scrapbooking, reading, and staying abreast of current events. Pronouns: she/her
Antoinette Scully, Advisory Board and Co-Founder Emeritus, is a community organizer dedicated to creating spaces built on the principles of education, equal access, and inclusivity. They currently work for the Unitarian Universalist Women’s Federation (UUWF), an associate member organization of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). Their staff position encompasses building programming and creating relationships with member congregations and local organizations to further the justice work centering on women. They also speak publicly on environmental justice, anti-racism practices, community care practices, and literary activism. They are the founder of Black & Bookish Literary Collective, an expansive blog and website dedicated to celebrating Black literature. From 2017-2021 she grew B&B into a Literary Editing Collective, specializing in their Sensitivity Reading consultations. They co-founded the Valley Justice Coalition, an organization that creates justice projects centered in the San Fernando Valley. Jill Herbertson, Co-Founder Emeritus, is an approved Our Whole Lives educator for K-12 grades. She earned her B.A. and Secondary School Teaching Certificate from Colorado State University, and studied design and painting at The Art Students League, and at The Studio and Forum of Stage Design, both located in New York City. She worked for 15 years as a scenic artist in film, television, stage, and theme parks. Jill created and implemented the Bret Harte Theater Project, an after school program of workshops, theater creation and performance for K-5th graders. Pronouns: she/her
