Check Out Our New Program for Early Childhood Education!
More Than Sex-Ed has been providing fact-based, affirming, and comprehensive education about human sexuality in schools throughout the LA area since 2015.
We’re now turning our attention to the conversations that trusted adults need to have with the early learners they care for.
We’ve designed a new series for pre-K and TK schools that provides building blocks to support healthy development for preschoolers, covering the appropriate content essential for this age group:
Three distinct sessions for adults
One classroom session for 4-5 year olds
For Parents and Caregivers of Preschoolers through Kindergarteners:
Session 1—Being an Askable Adult
Understand the importance of your role as sexuality educator in your child's life
Learn about the kinds of questions your kids may ask and how to appropriately respond
Gain helpful communication skills and vocabulary to talk with your kids about sexuality in age-appropriate ways
Session 2—Hopes and Concerns for your Child's Sexual Health
Consider the important milestones of sexual development from birth to adulthood, as we participate in a group activity called the “Timeline of Firsts”
Practice communicating your family’s values, and build skills to lay the groundwork for future conversations as children grow
Discuss your own hopes and fears about sex and sexuality for your children, and gain resources for supporting these talks
Session 3—Talking to your Child about Boundaries and Bodies
Understand the importance of talking to young children about bodily autonomy, personal space, and all the parts of their body
Practice having the hard conversations about safe and healthy touch, tricky behaviors, and trusted adults
Learn to protect your child by modeling consent and honoring boundaries
PreK-TK Classroom Session:
